Navigation Tips

The FotoMaps interface is designed to be intuitive, and most users will catch on quickly. But if you're having trouble, no worries, here's a quick run through of the FotoMaps navigation features.

Zooming In

Zoom Into a Region

Click any part of the map to zoom into that region.

Zoom Into a Photo

Click on any thumbnail to view photo.

Zooming Out

Zoom Out From a Photo

Click any empty spot on the map outside the photo.

Zoom Out From a Region

Click any empty spot on the map.

Viewing a Photo or Slideshow

Photo Information

Move your mouse over the plus sign in the top left corner of the photo to view photo information such as caption, photographer, and date.

Navigating a Slideshow

If the photo is part of a slideshow, use the "next" and "prev" buttons along the bottom of the photo to view the other photos in the slideshow.

Navigation Shortcuts

Jump to Neighboring Photo

When viewing a photo, click directly on a neighboring photo to view.

Drag the Map

When viewing a region you can click (and hold) and drag the map around to move to other regions.

Menu Bar

Open the Menu

Click on "about" for info, "help" for navigation tips, "contact" to send a message to the owner.

Close the Menu

Click the X on the top right corner of the menu item to close.
